OUT Online Application Requirements 2024/2025

To be eligible for admission to degree or diploma study, applicants need to meet minimum requirements for eligibility:

Undergraduate Programs

For Tanzanian applicants, the minimum entry requirement is two principal passes in relevant A-Level subjects totaling 4.0 points (except programmes at the College of Health Sciences which require 4.5 and 5 points) and three credits at ‘O’Level.
For international applicants, the minimum entry requirement is an equivalent qualification to the Tanzanian A-Level.
Applicants with RPL qualification must have a minimum of ‘B’ grade.

Postgraduate Programs

For Master’s degree by course work and dissertation, the minimum entry requirement is a first or second-class honours degree (minimum GPA of 2.7) or B average for unclassified degree in relevant disciplines from any accredited university or its equivalent from any approved higher learning institution.
For Master’s degree by research, the minimum entry requirement is a first or second-class honours degree (minimum GPA of 3.5).
For PhD, the minimum entry requirement is a Master’s degree (minimum GPA of 3.0) in the area intended to register for studies.
